Amitayus is the Buddha of long-life, wisdom and good fortune.  He is identified by a vase (kalasha) containing the elixir of immortality (amrita) and leaves of the ashoka tree, which symbolize a long life without the misery (shoka) of disease.  Amitayus is considered to be the same as Amitabha, except that Amitayus is depicted in the body of visionary enjoyment (samboghakaya), as shown by the 8 types of jeweled ornaments including crown, earrings, 3  types of necklaces, bracelets, arm bands, and rings; and the 5 types of silk garments including shawl, scarf, skirt, sash, and tie that holds together the jewels of the crown. His skin tone is red as he is the Buddha of the west.
